Avoid buying grapefruit with soft spots or very thick and wrinkled skin. Store It Store whole for 4-5 days on the counter. Store loose in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks in the low-humidity drawer, set the lever to open, more air coming in, or just crack the drawer slightly. Recipes Spicy Grapefruit Guacamole Recipe Image Ingredients 1 3/4 cups of grapefruit (about 2 grapefruit, cut into segments) 2 ripe avocados 2 tablespoons diced red onion 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional) 1/2 teaspoon salt Source Sunkist Serving Makes 2 servings. 1 cup per serving. Time 10 minutes Directions With a sharp knife, slice off ends of each grapefruit and cut rind off all the way around, using downward cutting motions. Trim off all remaining white pith.
