About

This is a new two-year health equity focused postdoctoral training fellowship where research meets action. Two fellows are recruited each year to receive training and collaborate with academics and community leaders to advance food justice solutions in diverse communities as part of the San Diego County CommUNITY Incubator Network (KIN).

Why Apply?

  • Make an impact: Conduct action-oriented research that matters now.
  • Learn from the best: Training and mentorship from committed researchers and community leaders.
  • Hands-on experience: Work directly with community-based organizations on critical research questions they identified.
  • Lead change: Build the skills to drive transformative research and advocacy.

Who Should Apply

Recent (within the last 3 years or expect to complete this year) doctoral graduates in public health, food systems, or related fields. We encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds, especially those with lived expertise and a commitment to health equity and community-driven research. The fellowship is hosted at UC San Diego and fellows are expected to reside within the San Diego County region to work with local communities.
